just fishing for bass of the shoreline and in the maw of the downflow inlet from steamboat rock when i saw the 's-ripple' on the surface and my lure was hit hard. the fish hit real hard and ran fast and long. i figure pike...but what i landed was no pike...nor a tiger musky either. the coloring was all wrong for either, or even a pickerel. i had little idea there were american muskies in banks.

by the way, the image is NOT of the fish i caught. what i caught was silver with dark specks on its side...but shaped like a very deep-chested pike.
what is shown above looks more like a tiger muskie.
