2.5 lb. Chain Pickerel caught by Marcus Dismas fishing on Tuesday June 10, 2008 at 12:15 near Cheney in Spokane County, Washington (WA), United States North America using a med beetlespin in green/yellow a Spinnerbait

cast/retrieve for crappie when my line got hit strong. saw the s-ripple in the weeds right before it was hit. the fish hit the lure, hooked itself, and ran. when i landed the fish, i thought it to be an immature pike, but when i looked in my book, the closest i could find was the pickerel.
i keep on getting surprised by the fish i find in my local forrays. anyone else run into any pickerel locally?

Yes, we have them here. Long and really skinny. Aggressive and fun to catch.
