3.9 lb. Largemouth Bass caught by Greg J in Rhode Island, United States on 07/26/08

Crazy night of fishing with a buddy on this strange little river after 4 days of torrential rain. Extremely narrow, fairly strong current, tons of overhanging brush, and pitch black darkness... we had to work very hard and carefully to keep those jitterbugs (and ourselves) out of the trees. The effort was worth it. After having spent more than an hour with nothing at all on the pond, we headed back up the river and into this bass ambush. At least a dozen back-to-back bass, some simultaneously, within a 30 minute/50 yard stretch. Most in the 2lb range, with a couple over 3lbs. This was my biggest and the last of the night. If you look closely, my eyes are sizing up the tree that we're about to get swept into. Naturally, I waited for the flash before mentioning it. Had to get that picture.

We were bumping the bottom against quite a few rocks, so this place may only be canoe-able after lots of rain. Will have to check it out again.
