Caught this 19 inch rainbow trout at Lilly Pond. It was caught on a night crawler off the bottom on my first cast. My boy friend is holding it, he got it in the canoe.I am a beginner, and this is the biggest fish I have caught and the only rainbow I have ever seen..
Used 8lb. mono-filament, rigged "old school" by my boyfriend. Snap-swivel tied (Strong dbl fisherman) to line, #2 leader-ed eagle claw hooked to swivel, medium split-shot crimped "gingerly" 6-8 inches above the swivel. Set up to catch bass. Water was around 16 feet deep and about 60 degrees at bottom and above 70 on top.
