fishing for bass when fish hit hard and ran into open water. glad i was using 30" of spiderwire for my leader! had heard rumors of pike in lake washington...but now i know. returned (female?) fish to water to get bigger, breed, eat more suckers & squawfish, and to terrorize the unsuspecting salmonid-centric local fishermen.
also note-during the same day, i also caught 2 adolescent pike that were about 12-15" long. they too were returned to the water.
