9.8 lb. Walleye caught by ABR1101-Nick Cullen with Jeff Loy fishing on Thursday October 14, 2010 at 15:11

OUR THIRD NINE POUND PLUS WALLEYE OF THE YEAR
Jeff Loy's behavior science student, Nick, is seen here experiencing his first successful walleye adventure.

In my animal behavior research classes and field trips I am always searching for that special moment for my clients. Today we were hoping for the hat trick: a walleye, a musky and a bald eagle.

Although we did not find a musky, Nick did see and learn to identify his first bald eagle (and other raptors) and caught his first walleye. His very first walleye went 7 plus pounds and he later topped that with a 9 1/2 pounder. Not bad for New Jersey fishing.

If you would like more information about animal behavior classes I can be reached at The Center For Animal Behavioral Research at 908-879-4646 in Chester, N.J.

P.S. I always launch at Sportsman's Marina on Lakeside Road. That's on the west side of the lake just 1 mile south of the N.Y. state border. Warren and his family are wonderful people and have always been wonderful hosts and tolerant of my boat launching blunders! J.J.L.
