Found this fish swimming at the surface near scattered sargasum weed.
Do not know what it is but at treat to find and look at b4 release.

The fish was caught w/a bait,dip net in 155' off Englewood/Boca Grande, Fl.
We kept it in the live well for over 6 hrs and called a mutual old friend to see if he still had a saltwater tank. He did not. Was released 2 mile off Stump Pass in Englewood. If you read the other posts from that day you will see the larger picture.

I don't think its a toadfish, frogfish, oyster cracker etc. they have really slimy skin thats venomous. It would have caused an irratation on his hand.

Looks like some kind of puffer. what region of the US that would narrow it down
