I Looked at those Baby Stripers and turned my stomach. Don't they have a size limit??? Such a waste .....

You boys in the East coasr who fish in the Atlantic ought to come out West (except the West coast) and try your luck and see how you do.

In Lake Mead the striper population flucuates from 2-7 million. The reason? They starve to death due to a lack of available feed!

Ask any wildlife manager or fishery guy from either Nevada or Arizona and they will tell you to catch and keep EVERY striper you catch!

On the east end of Lake Mead (South Cove) the average fish weighs just 1.2 lbs. An despite what you may think these stripers are not that easy to catch. These lakes and river systems are not fertile like the systems back East. It is like comparing apples to oranges.

Like I said, come on out here boys to any of the Colorado River lakes or river and try your east coast tactics and see what you get!

I don't want or need to start any kind of "pissing contest" on this site. Its a neat site and we are all anglers with that common bond.

So that being said, I would suggest you try and keep comments civil.

I see guys posting pics every day of small bass and sunfish, yet I don't deride or make a negative comment about them.

The Colorado River fishery has and in some areas does produce some great fish--we had one striper at a tournament that weighed over 52 lbs., but that is the exception not the rule.

I just spoke with a guy who has been fishing three times where we fish (South Cove on Lake Mead)and hasn't got one fish. I told him what he needs to do and I hope he will be successful out there.

The average catch out of South Cove by MOST but not ALL anglers is probably less than 10 fish a trip.

It has taken me years and years to get to the point where we do as well as we do.

Good fishing, no matter where you are!
