I've resumed my quest to land a Bowfin on a fly rod, and today I had good results. I hooked a Bowfin and lost it, but along the way I landed a bushel of White Bass and White Crappie. White Bass are as fun to catch as any fish on a fly rod. In fact, I think a fly rod is the best way to catch them, as they don;t tire as they do against the drag of a spinning rod. Here is a bad action shot of my 3rd or 4th fish of the day.

I generally use a crayfish fly, but there was current, so
I cheated with a shad dart, with a dressed tail

What kind of fly were you targeting the bowfin with?
