Henry-- sometimes the temp. is below zero. The ice is 18" thick. I drive my F-150 to where I want to fish, get out, drill two holes and set my portable ice shanty up. Hook up the heater, undress to tolerate 50-65 degrees. Fish a couple hours, spend an hour cleaning them, Vac pak 'em--and have awesome fish fries in the summer! It ain't too cold! It's fishin'!
