It's real. Unfortunately, I could not find a good photo in the public domain when I put that fish in the database. Here's a description from wikipedia: "The shorthead redhorse, Moxostoma macrolepidotum, is a species of freshwater fish endemic to the northern United States east of the Rocky Mountains and adjacent regions of Canada. It is typically found in natural lakes and still regions in rivers. "A bottom-feeder, it feeds on mollusks, microcrustaceans, insects, and plant material." If you do a google image search on "Moxostoma macrolepidotum" you will find a bunch of pictures. But I don't have rights to put them on Hooked-in. Posted by Joe Pych about 1 year ago |

Would love to see a picture of this one to see what it looks like. Nice postings Jeff! I'll take a step back so you can get back on top of the ranking! Posted by Chris DeMartine about 1 year ago |
