Stingray caught by Brian Shea fishing on Saturday August 25, 2018 at 03:18 2.88 km from Long Branch in Monmouth County, New Jersey (NJ), United States North America using a gulp

I took a trip out in the ocean today. I caught 2 keeper flounder and a bunch of short flounder that went back to fight another day. I also caught some sea robins, small sea bass, bluefish (on my freshwater pole) and a cow nose ray. We were surrounded by acres of bunker schools, jumping bonito, dolphins, a pod of pilot whales and a huge humpback whale.

I thought the pee trick was for jelly fish stings. These things will put a barb in you. Kinda like a spiny dogfish.

Those things can sure fight! Especially in the surf! If your stung, you are supposed to pee on the spot.

I had to make sure that I held the barb. I didn't feel like taking a trip to the hospital.
