I'm getting out more as we head into the spawn. This is a "secret" location known to almost nobody except a bunch of RC boat racers who dominate the pond on Sundays. I know the owners of one of the business next to the water, and so I feel safe ignoring the "Trespassers...prosecuted" signs posted.
I was fancasting around a point when about 30 yards away I saw repeated turbulence just off the bank. It looked like bass were running to the bank and picking off fish before turning away and running back out to deeper water. I walked over and began running the torpedo parallel to the bank. I pulled out two small bass (under 12") in five attempts before the 3# took it and tore away to the deep. My 7' pole and 15# line were enough to horse him over the bank and onto the scale.
My old digital camera died, so I'm looking for a cheap (5MP is now cheap!) replacement...
