32.0 lb. Grass Carp caught by Brent C fishing on Wednesday April 16, 2008 at 13:11 near Hillsborough in Orange County, North Carolina (NC), United States North America using a Diced asian pears marinated in molasses

Caught this grassie at the apartment complex I lived at last year. I spent many a days and nights fishing for these spooky critters. I've caught them on pears, tomatoes, bread, mulberries, and various homemade dough balls. They are rather easy to catch with bread. But catching them in ultra shallow water with any bait that splashes is tough. I also caught them with regularity under an oak tree but the pond. They were eating the acorns that plopped into the water. At that time, the sound of my bait hitting the water was beneficial.
