After work around 4:00 I had the right tide, when I got home from work and I jumped in my run-about and headed for my favorite spot. There were two or three boats there already. the day was over-cast with temps in the mid fiftys. The water was dirty from the past two days of rain and the guys there were not doing much, so I thought it best to try a top water lure with a little rattle to it. I had pulled up right in between two boats and one guy kind of gave me the look. you know, it was what do you think your gona do buddy. I just kinda tilted my head with the hows it going look and got out my rod. The first cast dident do much and them guys kinda looked at each other like, boy we got one here. The secound cast, I flipped it right in between there two corks. They were fishing live bait and no live bait in the creeks to be found. I have tryed this before and seen fish swim right past my bait. I pulled the top water lure about two pops and POW, it wast on. When I netted the fish I heard no sounds from the other boats around me. I just said under my breath, yea what a fish. I had two oyher hits that day with in minuts of the first fish. I have been back there sence then and the same two boats were there and when I pulled up they gave me the hello nod. I felt kinda good. By the way that trick dident work that day. oh well, it worked once with a little luck right?
