using
a small live bluegill that just ate a worm
I was fishing at a small lake in the very bottom of North Carolina. I was visiting my grandmother. I casted out about 3ft. I was using a worm and bobber. I caught a tiny bluegill. Then I saw a giant bass start swimming from under the dock. My brother yelled, "Keep it in!" The bass was going after the bluegill. Then he started swimming towards the center of the lake. Then...BAM! I had a 7 1/2 bass on an 8 pound testline. After about 5 minutes I thought he came off the hook. Later we found out that the hook traveled out of the bluegill's mouth into the bass's mouth. It took me 15 minutes to reel him in. While I ran to get the scale, as my brother was holding him, my dad look down his throat. He could see a little fish tail wriggling. That was the biggest fish I had ever caught. Great story. My son will usually catch the little fish for me/him to use for catching bigger fish. Love it.
