Bowfin tails get that way from making nests, but the spawn is long over. The might still be healing - that is a male, and they make the nests. Posted by Henry V 5 months ago |

I think those are bite marks or marks from being caught in the past and abused. I hav eonly seen them on bowfin that we have caught in well fished areas. Bowfin are known to bleed from there tails when they get agressive I think Posted by Joe A 5 months ago |
