29.0" / 5.0 lb. Northern Pike caught by David Adams fishing on Saturday February 02, 2008 at 12:04 in Colchester Pond near Colchester in Chittenden County, Vermont (VT), United States North America using a Northland AirPlane Jig 1oz

Set up on the north end of the pond to get away from other groups fishing the south, was using the aqua-vu to watch perch avoid my bait when a northern filled the screen and looked at the camera. It was awesome to watch the fish react to the lure when i dropped it down the hole. However it wasn't until i let the lure hit the bottom did the pike take it. I was the most amazing thing to see the pike strike the lure on the camera...it paid for itself that day! Definately worth the investment. I caught another 2 smaller northers doing the same thing that i learned from catchin this one.

Did well that day with 13 northerns iced.

I go to the pond alot recently I have found live suckers bigger the better seem to catch the bigger pike. While fishing with medium heavy shad expect larger perch and alot of big smallmouth bass and alot of smaller pike.We caught 7 smallmouth in a day nothing under 16 inches

It was a great day on the pond...definately worth the hike to the far end. The camera has paid for itself many times this season. I went back to colchester pond about a week or two later, a small northern pulled my jig stick off the holder and too the bottom and i used the camera to locate the rod and use another jig stick to snagg the one on the bottom and subsequently land the pike on the end of the line.
It gives you such a good idea of what your fishing over and what your lure/bait looks like under the ice.

Can't say enough good things about it!

13?!!! that is a good day. I've been a bit skeptical about the aqua-vu but you just sold me on it with this story. If my wife complains about the money, I'll blame it on you!
