using
a Hopkins Shorty 3/8oz Silver Matte finish
a Casting & Trolling Spoon
by Hoppy's Lures
My friend and I were out at Twin Lakes Wantagh L.I.
The weather was beautiful for the month of Dec.
Temperature was around 40 and there was plenty of sun.
The Hopkins Shorty is one of my favorite spoons
Next to Kastmaster there is no other spoon that cast
And produces as many strikes.I also have had sucess with
The Sidewinder,Crocodile, and Deadly Dick.I'm very biased
On my choice of rod as most of them are European designs.
My favorite is a Mikado "Black Draft" 8'3" rated at
5-20 gms. This rod paired with a Daiwa SS2 reel easily
Casts 100yds with 4 -6lb. P-line.My other favorites are a
Team Dragon 8'4" 2-4lb test,Shimano Technium ML 9'
The reason I like European rods so much is because I find
That offer greater sensitivity and the lengths are a bit
Unsual compared to Domestic rods. You would have spend
About $300 to achieve the same in Domestic rods.Anyone
Who would like more info on Euro trout, carp rods.
