3.0 lb. Striped Bass (striper) caught by Paul Gates fishing on Friday June 19, 2009 at 09:59 in Cedar Bayou 4.73 km from Cartwright in Bryan County, Oklahoma (OK), United States North America using a Black Perch a Panfish

Had been fishing all week and with the gizzard shad just spawning the shad were very few and far between. So, I put my Kansas fishing experience into affect and started catching black perch and bluegill, which turned out to be the right move. After the third day, even the guides were catching perch and using them also. This is not the biggest fish we caught, but the biggest for the last day of fishing there. We put in outside of Kingston and on the last day, we went down to Texas and fished the deep water and along the bluffs outside of Eisenhower State Park. You could see allot of very big nice homes along side of the lake, but the one that stuck out the most was Mr. Perou's (the rich guy from Texas that ran for president years back) which was a huge house, but it had been completely removed of all it's trees and had a beautiful bald hill and manicured grass from house to lakeside. What a site! I was just as excited about going "humpie" fishing (bluecat) there at Texoma, but only caught one that went about 8lbs. and don't have a picture of it..sorry. I seem to forget to bring the camera as I have allot in the past, but am trying to get better... Did have a "Great" time, plenty of sun..way toooo much, even got this 51 year "old" fat man up on a salomn ski! I would recomend any fisherman going down to check this place out. It has allot of fish to offer and if you don't have time to look for the fish, there are many experienced guides who will take you out. But, all you really have to do is follow them out and watch what they are doing.

That is very true..lots of red meat on the big ones, but it's still fun to latch onto a big one from 40 to 50 feet down...BIG FUN!!!
