We were actually looking for trout! Summer Set Res. is a BIG body of water. We left the dock just as you could start to see and fished around the outskirts of most of the lake. The wind picked up and we had 24" whitecaps...in a canoe! Good thing "UNCLE RICK" has a trolling motor attached. Left the lake around 3pm - about 10 hours on the water. Fishing was OK, but not great (still better than working). Caught 30-40 fish between the two of us...mostly smallmouth bass, average around 1 pound (not bad for smallies)... also caught pickerel, rock bass, dace, yellow perch and a severe SUN BURN. We went through the tackle box on this one...fish landed on floating rapala, rapala deep dives, a bumble bee floater, Top water torpedo and rubber lizard, but the silver spinner seemed to be the fish's favorite today. Never tried any deep water, but "they" say Summer set holds nice Lake trout & even land locked salmon...maybe on the next trip.
