23.5" Bowfin caught by Henry V fishing on Friday August 21, 2009 at 12:49 near Apex in Wake County, North Carolina (NC), United States North America using a Crankbait

I started my day by landing a channel cat at the Stagecoach road impoundment. The action slowed so I met Joe for lunch and we headed to White Oak Creek. The water was high and clear, with stronger than normal current. I figured the fins were down low, and I was right. This 23" fin grabbed a Storm crankbait at a depth of about 7'. The fish gave me hell but I won the fight. The White Oak fins have amazing dark brown and black color tones, and this one raised its dorsal fin for the photo op. We stopped at a small pond by Jordan Lake on the way out and I also landed two chunky bass.
