Largemouth Bass caught by Joe Pych fishing on Sunday August 16, 2009 at 07:48 near Hanover in Grafton County, New Hampshire (NH), United States North America using a 5" green pumpkin senko a Worm by Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits

Caught this bass the morning after camping out with the boys and some friends. The night before I did not fish at all because I was busy baiting hooks and unhooking perch and rock bass for the kids. The next morning was much the same. Then I decided to fish a bit myself...

Lucky day - First cast and I got this one on a wacky rigged senko about 10 feet from shore. Let the worm sink to the bottom and the bass hit on the first twitch. It wasn't easy to land this fish because of all the branches and brush near the shore.

After landing it, I gave the fish to my son Curtis to show mom. He scampered right up the bank that was made slippery with a bed of pine needles and morning dew. I grabbed my coffee cup and when I turned to follow him, I slipped and took a tumble. My shin hit a root so hard it took the bark off the root. Needless to say it took the skin off my leg, too. And the ground felt the full impact of my forearm. Lost my glasses and spilled coffee on myself. I can't remember the last time I fell that hard or so awkwardly.

I'd be smiling more in this photo if I wasn't feeling a lot of pain ;-)

Losing a cup of coffee: $1.75
Losing a Senko worm: $.75
Landing a hog: priceless

Thanks, guys.

Craig - yes, I am noticing a lot of snags with the wacky technique. But I don't mind if I am catching fish! And I'd rather lose a worm than a $7 rapala!

Craig - and yes, I am the founder of the site. Thanks for the ideas... that's a good idea on the message sending. I've gotten similar requests from other members and will give this some more thought. Hooked-in is all about sharing fish stories and ideas and your idea fits well with that.
