8.0" Rock Bass caught by Joe Pych fishing on Sunday August 30, 2009 at 16:28 near Hanover in Grafton County, New Hampshire (NH), United States North America using a 3" realstix power minnow (perch) a Panfish by Berkley

Normally I would not post a small rock bass, but this one saved me from the skunk yesterday.

I was coming off a high from catching big bass on Friday and was hoping for more of the same action. My very first cast with a strike king spinner landed exactly where I'd planned and hooked up immediately. It was a nice bass, but I lost it as soon as I got sight of it (or it got sight of me) - poor hookset :-( I got hits on subsequent casts, but no hookups. I was thinking it was going to be a good day. Then the pond went completely dead. I tried just about everything in the box. Even the senkos could not get a strike. I finally caught this rock bass on a berkeley power minnow.

Hopefully going out there again tomorrow with DeMartine. Wish us luck.

	These fish can take over a lake. I hear they spawn twice a year. They have a rock bass fishing tournament at Lake Sunapee - goal is to weed out these fish - recent winner caught ~180 of them. There are plenty up here - come up and catch all you want! Posted by Joe Pych 2 months ago
