Chain Pickerel caught by Justin Emerle fishing on Thursday September 03, 2009 at 08:30 near Mullica Hill in Gloucester County, New Jersey (NJ), United States North America using a Tinsel Green a In-Line Spinner by Rooster Tail (Worden's)

Went to Swedesboro Lake this morning and got shutout. There were dozens upon dozens of little Shad jumping out of the water right in front of this water runoff that I like to fish over there. I figured it would be a field day with all of the bait fish in the area. I tried everything; Spinnerbaits, Crankbaits, Jigs, Buzzbaits..... nothing. 2 other anglers there shared the same fate.

I decided to stop off at Mullica Hill Pond on the way home to see how the water level looked. I spotted this small Pickerel hiding in some vegetation about 15 feet out from the bank. I grabbed the ultra-light and tied on a rooster tail. This little guy wasted no time. He ambushed the lure on the first cast.
