carp arent elusive...but they spook waaaay to easy. You need alot of patience and the exact thing there looking to eat. Good catch though.Ive been trying to get the monsters in my local creek for 2 years now....just wont bite anything...bread, corn, bread AND corn. I even tried something similiar to brandons recipe. I think carp have large brains for fish lol. The only time ive got them out of water is when i was little and my dad would walk out in the shadows and scoop up 3 or 4 3ft. plus carp. (he stopped that when a snapping turtle he thought was a rock took off the first 2 inches of shoe.)

Ingredients 1/2 cup Cornmeal, 1/2 cup Flour, 1/4 cup Karo Syrup, 3 tablespoons peanut butter, 1/4 cup of water. Heat up karo syrup peanut butter and water in small pot on low heat untill the peanut butter melts into a liquid. then after you mix the flour and cornmeal in a seperate bowl pour both into the prior ingredients you warmed up but do it slowly untill you get the consistency of a dough, once you get the right texture mix in some cotton balls, the cottonballs will make the dough stay on your hook alot longer than by itself. we used to catch them in the potholes behind the dam when we were younger try it out and tell me how you like it if i knew you wanted to catch some carp i would have told you this recipe awile ago...
