I've had some luck with the Strike King "Paddle-Stik" from the Shaw Grigsby line, but my favorites are the Case "Magic-Stiks." I like Case because I don't have to pay 5 bucks a bag and their color assortment is usually really good wherever you find them. Senko's have produced for me as well. My fishing partner and I tore up the smallies in the James with these style of worms, they would'nt hit anything else.

Pretty fish! Have you tried a firetail? They are purple with a red tail. "Creme" were the first mfg. to make a firetail and it just drives the bass crazy! When I was out east (NC) I had a pond apox. 20' from my back door and at first I tore them up with a firetail, but after awhile, I guess they got used to it and wouldn't hit it anylonger. I believe in a small encloser they do grow accustomed to a bait and you have to give them something else. I ended up using a pink worm right before I left NC and caught the heck out of them again. I even got a response when I took a purple and put a red hook in it, after I could not get them to hit with a black hook. Now tell me its not the little things that revoke a response.... Pretty Pretty Fish!!

Nice fish....I'm also a Jersey guy with very little success with plastic worms...ive Wacky rigged, Texas rigged them....Nothing.. Seems like the fish don't like plastic, ive tried Senkos as well..no luck. With nightcrawlers last week I caught a 1.5LB Largemouth right at the edge of a pond, thought it was a bluegill at first turned out to be a nice bass...im thinking either its the weather or the pond is just overfished and the Bass have wised up...
