2.5 lb. Largemouth Bass caught by Tim Fairlie fishing on Sunday October 18, 2009 at 10:37 near Princeton Junction in Mercer County, New Jersey (NJ), United States North America using a Bandit 100 a Crankbait

Mercer's been good to me the last couple times out there, so I figured I'd try it again, hoping they're still chasing shad around.

I launched around 6:30am. It was cold, windy as hell, raining, and generally unpleasant..but seemed like a great day for some cranking.

I targeted laydowns and stumps in shallow water, alternating between a bandit 100 crank and a spinnerbait (where weeds/leaves made cranking a hassle)

Fished until 9:30, and ended up with 4 keepers and a few shorts. Here's the only one that seemed worthy of getting the camera wet.

I'm thinking (hoping) Mercer is on the verge of a comeback. It's known for being tough, but I think I've caught more fish there in the past 3 weeks than the past 2yrs combined. Could just be the fall feed, but good signs nonetheless
