nice pickerel They do fight well and they can cut that line. Hard to get the trebble hooks out without a cut up finger.

Looks like a chain pickerel from here! The redfins have stripes - they look like mini tiger muskies.

Of course i feel better!! It was a nice thought that i was almost there. I thought it was just a chain...but there was so much red i got worried. Is there a hybrid im unaware of? This still seems like it has way too much red, but i do see what you mean in the body stripe pattern and as i said on another post...the snout seems to belong the chain.

If it makes you feel better about the state record thing, it's got the chainsides like a Chain Pickerel. Redfins have verticle sort of stripes. Regardless, it's a nice looking fish and a good catch.

That almost looks like a redfin pickerel. Good stuff.
