21.0" Bowfin caught by Henry V fishing on Thursday October 29, 2009 at 10:37 near Chapel Hill in Orange County, North Carolina (NC), United States North America using a lure by Mepps

It's my favorite time of year: the water temps decline and the Bowfin changes into its winter colors. There is no explanation for why they do it other than they do. The result is a fish that looks like a tiger was cross-bred with a log chain, and just as tough.
