27.0" / 8.0 lb. Channel Catfish caught by Jim Gronaw fishing on Sunday January 17, 2010 at 20:10 1.96 km from Menges Mills in York County, Pennsylvania (PA), United States North America using a 1/8 th ounce, chartreuse a Bass Jig

Went to the Brunner Island Plant today but got only one fish...this nice channel cat while trying for smallies. Water is cloudy and on the rise from yesterdays rain, but will not reach danger levels. Good wading and fishing should improve within the next few days.

Update on Brunner Island/Susquehanna River Hot Water Discharge fishing. ...
Had the record snowfall totals today from 30 to 38 inches in Maryland and so. PA. The river levels are good for wading as it is supposed to remain cold throughout the week, hindering any snowmelt runoff and subsequent rising water levels. Give the workers at the plant a few days to clean up the snow for some access to the parking lot on Wago Rd and then some good smallmouth and walleye fishing on jigs and suspended jerkbaits should be happening.

Good thinking fishing the warm water. Stay on 'em - those places attract all kinds of fish in winter.

Yes, the suds you see occur most often when the river is on the rise from recent rain as there was about an inch the day before and got the water to look like chocolate. Hence, fishing was tough.
