FishMaster, You are wrong about a downrigger. A downrigger is like an outrigger but it puts your bait down deep instead of out away from the boat. It cranks a heavy weight(3 lbs) down to the desired depths and your line is clipped to it. When the fish bites, the line pops off and you fight the fish. But hey, you're the Fish Master

That's a nice looking fish and looks 15 to me. Doesn't matter though... this website is for fun. We are not giving away a boat for the biggest fish, so exact measurements are not critical. Main thing is sharing fish stories.

Fish Master - we'd all appreciate if you would put your guns back in your holster. I think we would all benefit from your experience, but that experience needs to be presented the right way.

Frackle - thanks for sharing and keep it up!

Everyone - be cool. This is supposed to be fun, right?

see what i mean. You don't know the first thing about fishing i could tell. Here is a little lesson for the newbies on here: A downrigger is a devise that hooks on to the boat motor and slows it down so you can troll at a more controlled speed. Ive been using one for years and have had great luck with it. You should try one sometime! Tightest of lines <----
