18.0" / 5.0 lb. Blackfin Tuna caught by Andrew Gavulic fishing on Friday May 02, 2008 at 19:30 in Freeport, Bahamas North America using a 1/4 oz - rainbow a Roundhead

Crossed from Miami on way to west end of Grand Bahama in 31 Contender on Thursday, May 1, 2008, tough north wind at 20 - 25 knots, seas upwards of 12 in the stream. Spun prop on port engine 8 miles out of Bimini, limped in, changed prop. Tried to continue north to west end and called it quits, came back to Bimini. Trolled back to Bimini Sands, no luck. Next day fished all day on some reefs, caught 15 yellowtail and some small strawberries. Fished the ledge that night at 350 feet, hooked up a couple black skipjacks and the small blackfin. Next two days got better. Nailed at 20.5 lb Mahi on way back to Miami on Sunday and nearly got taken by 12 foot lemon shark, great fun after the brutal crossing on Thursday.
