4.3 lb. Landlocked Salmon caught by AJ White fishing at the Winni Derby on Friday May 16, 2008 at 07:08 in Lake Winnipesaukee 5.49 km from Mirror Lake in Carroll County, New Hampshire (NH), United States North America

AJ White a.k.a. "Salmonitis" shown here aboard the Peggy C, which appears to be a porcupine when viewed at a distance because of its vast array of fishing rods.

AJ was ranked #1 on day one of the derby and is in contention for the grand prize of a 17 foot starcraft boat. AJ was quite anxious at the time of this picture hoping that he retains his #1 spot.

However, that did not prevent AJ from performing masterful on-dock surgery on his dad Dave "Salty" White who just minutes before got snagged by a treble hook through the index finger.

Under the advisement of the Hooked-in medical staff on location and using "Hey dad, look over there" as the anasthetic, the hook was quickly removed.

Let's hope that AJ's fish holds its position.
