a Black
a Spinnerbait
Cast out to a postcard shoreline... dragging my spinnerbait between a dead submerged tree and a partially exposed boulder when this guy hit. Jumped three times, dove, ran, tumbled, even splashed us in the canoe. It was an amazing fight and just what was needed after that rainbow trout mind game. This bass had about 3 feet of someone else's line coming out of his gullet (you can see it wrapped around my lure in the pic). I can't imagine what was rusting away in his stomach, but it sure wasn't slowing him down. I clipped the old line as much as I could and thanked him for the ride. We fished another 45 mins and pulled in quite a few more bass and a couple chain pickerel. It was my son's first time in the canoe. A fine maiden voyage.
