30.0" / 9.0 lb. Bowfin caught by scott lavigne fishing on Monday May 26, 2008 at 18:26 in Lake Champlain 7.47 km from Winooski in Chittenden County, Vermont (VT), United States North America

i went fishing with 2 of my friends at the malletts bay marina at around 5:00 pm we used nightcrawlers to catch baitfish like perch, pumpkinseed, and rockbass. When it got around sunset time we kept 1 perch and used a rapala fillet knife to cut the perch into a few peices and put it on a eagle claw size 2/0 with a bobber and we casted it out and let it sit about 10 minutes later the bobber went under water and i set the hook and brought it in and it was a bowfin 9 pounds

	Congrats on the bow but you left the greatest part. That being the fight that these guys put up. My friend in N.C. has caught more than 20 in 2yrs He's on the verge of earning Master Angler. Again super on catching this scarce predator. Posted by Albert Scantleberry about 1 year ago
