Lake Del Valle, Livermore CA- Fishing report 8/21/10

Chuck Swann

Got to Del Valle at 6 am and in the water by 6:20 on my friends boat.  The surface tempature was 74 and a slight wind from the NW.  We trolled rebels, nightcrawlers, wedding rings at depths of 10,20 and 30 with not a hit.  We moved back to the dam and drifted anchovies for strippers....Nothing.   We fished power baits, worms and grubs and still could't draw any bites.  We also did not see any other fish taken by other boats or shore fisherman.  Fishing is slow right now with surface temps in the 70's.

3 people fishing ====0 fish taken

Thats why the call it fishing......not catching!  Still better than working.  Tight lines to-ya!

22 days and counting until I will be fishing East Cape...Woohoo!

Will do!!  Bringing about 10 outfits from 200 lbs class down to 12 lbs.  My son and I set a goal to cat 15 different species in 6 days.  I am trying to put together an 11 wt fly rod outfit to try and catch a sailfish on a fly...the good outfits are expensive as hell.
