need help with catching pike through the ice. :)
ok this will be the first year that i have tried to specifficaly catch pike through the ice, now the lake im going to be fishing has pike, pikrel, tiger muskie, and regular muskie in it. i know you can use tip up's for them but i dont have the patience to wait for a flag to come up. what i need to know is what lures that i can use through the ice that one of the above species will hit..... and i know minnows work sometimes too, but then u have to worry about perch, crappie, and all the "minnow eaters" Any information and/or tips would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
tom

Well when using minnows if you use the largest size shiners you don't have to worry about other fish youll just be waiting for the big guys to take it. For lures try the largest size rapala jigging rap. 3 1/2 inch one. try tipping it with some minnows. also large spoons should work too. And try the northland airplane jig.
