Actually, tons of good public access spots on passaic River, especially up around Little Falls. I had a few 2-30 fish days in that run.

He's looking for Smallmouth spots . I was referring to other Smallmouth spots beside Passaic River , which are private .. Passaic River is not private , just be careful whose property your fishing from .. There are many Smallmouth Spots in NJ , it just so happens most of them are PRIVATELY OWNED ..

At the end of the NJ run of Route 80, 4 miles before the 80 bridge into Pa is a town called Columbia. You can go down to the shore line and cast on the backside of an old smaller bridge where the stone and brick column blocks the water flow. Smallies hide out there. They are reachable from the shore. It is a steep slope down to the shore line.

Round Valley, Raritan River near the dam at Duke Island park, any access at the North Branch or South Branch of the Raritan River, Millstone River at Blackwell Mills or Griggstown, Delaware-Raritan Feeder canal at Lambertville or Bulls Island State Park. When fishing the canal, fish behind the locks where the fast moving water is. Sometimes smallies stack up there.
