should have had a world record bluegill today

Daniel Plaza

man i was out fishing in a certain location and caught a few bass. the day was going good, so i casted my 6 inch zoom finessee worm out agin and let it sink to the bottom. i was twitching it rapidly then would let it set. the it happend i went to twitch the bait and dut dut dut bam.... i was using micro gear and 4lb test so it faught hard and i just thought it was a bass again, so i kept fighting it in and it showed its self. it was huge i wish i had my gopro on. this bluegill was larger than a 5 gallon bucket lid and fought like a 5 pound bass. this fish was huge it was a light green with orange on the belly side and fins. so after i seen it, it went on another run and i let it. i knew this was a record no doubt about it.  and it was most likely 5+. it ran right right into a dam tumble weed. it was stuck at the surface on top of this weed it fllop like crazy so i opend my drang jumped in and went after it and when i got to it as i reach for it the hook came free. i am soo mad im going back in about a week and he day after that untill it is caught i will not give up i want to be in the books. crazy story but i did all that was in my power. so there it is THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY. when i catch it i will post it and location but untill then sorry im keeping this spot under wraps.

Great story! I love it. A record fish is what we all dream of. We may not admit it, but to be in the books is a wonderful dream. I wish you well. I have not had good luck going back after a fish I had lost. I hope you get it. I want to see it.

Wow! Great story, tragic ending. You lost the fish, but you have the story of a lifetime.

When you have caught enough fish, the monsters that get away are still cherished memories.

That said, I bet you are now Ahab, and that beast is your White Whale.

That record has stood since 1950. I think its about time for it to be broken. You are in a good location for it. Also, the next world record largemouth bass is in your state. I believe you really have a shot at that too.
